Sue Izzo Keynote Speaker

Meet Sue Izzo…

There are consultants who have studied business. And then there is Sue Izzo, who has lived it at every level, built companies from scratch, sold one to a global firm, survived cancer, facilitated rooms full of the most accomplished executives in the world, and still shows up every single day with the same relentless drive to help the people she works with win.

That is not a bio. That is a track record.

THE OPERATOR

In 1999 Sue founded Mosaic Sports Management, a boutique sports management agency in one of the most competitive and male dominated industries in professional sports. She was not just the only woman in the room. She was the only woman who owned the room.

Over the next 17 years she negotiated multi-million dollar endorsement deals for Winter Olympians, X Games Gold Medalists, ESPY winners, World Champion surfers, and television personalities. She built global athlete brands, developed and produced global entertainment and event properties for ESPN, ABC, NBC, Netflix, and Apple TV. She co-founded Frends, a headphone company built around the female consumer in a market that had ignored her completely. She created non-profits, product lines, and IP based businesses alongside her clients because building one company was apparently not enough.

In 2015 she sold Mosaic to Octagon, one of the largest sports management companies in the world. That exit validated everything. The late nights, the hard calls, the bets she made on herself when nobody else would.

THE PIVOT

In 2016 Sue was diagnosed with breast cancer. She handled it the same way she handles everything else. Head on, with humor, and without losing a step longer than necessary.

What followed was one of the most productive evolutions of her career. As Co-Founder of the US division of Basic Bananas, an international marketing education company, she established and led their entire United States operation, facilitating 11 month marketing education masterminds for founders and entrepreneurs across the country.

From there she launched Sue Izzo Consulting, working directly with founders, executives, and growing companies as a strategic business advisor. This is where the full depth of her operator experience met the consulting work she was built to do. From helping companies identify what was holding them back, align their people around fixing it, and build a clear path to growth to working on their marketing, brand positioning, and being a trusted advisor to the founders and CEO’s.

She then brought her expertise to MEA, the Modern Elder Academy, where she worked with B2B companies and facilitated transformational experiences for some of the most accomplished business leaders in the world. She designed curriculum, led workshops, and created programming for thought leaders including Sara Blakely, founder of Spanx, on topics ranging from purpose and navigating transitions to growth mindset and emotional intelligence in leadership. As VP of Business Development and Partnerships Sue was integral in building partnerships with John Bowen, founder of CEG Worldwide and Arthur Brooks.

She has facilitated sessions for YPO, YPO Gold, WPO, EO and Stanford Graduate School of Business alumni’s and has spoken on stages across the country as a keynote speaker, weaving 27 years of real operator experience with storytelling and the kind of humor that makes a room feel like it has known her for years.

THE ADVISOR

Today Sue works with CEOs, founders, executives and their teams, and organizations as a strategic business advisor, executive coach, and facilitator. She brings a rare combination of founder and operator experience, organizational intelligence, and genuine emotional intelligence to every engagement.

She is a certified Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) facilitator, a methodology that uses horses as mirrors for human behavior to create some of the most powerful and immediate breakthroughs in leadership development available. If that sounds unexpected coming from a former sports agent turned strategic advisor, good. That is exactly the point. Sue has never done anything the expected way and the results speak for themselves.

She was the an Advisory Board Member for the Surfing Industry Manufacturers Association for two years and a recipient of the WISE San Diego Woman of Inspiration Award. She has been recognized across industries as a leader, builder, and the kind of advisor that founders and executives call when the stakes are too high to get it wrong.

THE HUMAN

Sue is an East coast Italian residing in North County San Diego. She is direct without being brutal, strategic without being cold, and funny without trying too hard. She will ask you the questions nobody else is asking, tell you what she actually thinks, and show up for your business like it is her own. And be the friend and confidante you need.

She cannot pack the back of a car to save her life. Spatial relations are simply not her gift. But she will cook you the best Italian meal you have ever had and solve your most complicated business problem (and many times your personal problems too) before the pasta is done.

If that sounds like the kind of person you want in your corner, you are right.
