Meet Sue Izzo, founder turned strategic business advisor

Award winning Sunday sauce maker (award provided by my neighbors), horse lover, research dork, and the person people call to solve problems.

The Founder

In 1999 I founded Mosaic Sports Management, a boutique agency in one of the most male dominated corners of professional sports. I wasn't just the only woman in the room. I was the only woman who owned the room.

Over 17 years I achieved the following:

  • Represented Winter Olympians, X Games gold medalists, ESPY winners, and world champion surfers and television personalities

  • Negotiated multimillion dollar endorsement and entertainment deals

  • Built global athlete brands

  • Produced event and entertainment properties for ESPN, ABC, NBC, Netflix, and Apple TV

  • Cofounded Frends, a headphone brand for women in a market that ignored them

Building one company apparently wasn't enough. I also launched nonprofits, product lines, and IP businesses with my clients.

In 2015 I sold Mosaic to Octagon, one of the largest sports management companies in the world. Every late night and every bet I made on myself paid off.

The Pivot

In 2016 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I handled it like everything else. Head on, with humor, and back to work as fast as possible.

What came next was some of the best work of my career.

  • Basic Bananas: Co-founded the US division and led 11-month marketing education mastermind for founders and teams across the Western United States

  • Sue Izzo Consulting: Advised and collaborated with founders, entrepreneurs, solopreneurs on growth, brand positioning, product and sales strategy, marketing and operations.

  • Sports Management Mastermind: Co-founded and built an online athlete education program. From curriculum development, facilitation, marketing, operations, guest speaker recruitment, to developing the Kajabi website, social media, and authored blog posts (pre-Claude).

  • Modern Elder Academy (MEA): VP of Programming led a 17 person facilitation team between Mexico and the US, designed curriculum and facilitated for B2B private groups including Sarah Blakely, Susan David, YPO Gold, EO, and WPO. As VP of Business Development and Partnerships I assisted in building partnerships with, including contract negotiations for Arthur Brooks and CEG Worldwide.

The Advisor

After 27 years of building businesses, negotiating deals, facing and overcoming ridiculous obstacles I created the strategic business advisory business I wish I had to lean on. So consider it my gift to you.

I'm also a certified Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) facilitator. Horses mirror human behavior, and they can't be charmed by your title. A former sports agent working with horses? That's exactly the point. I've never done anything the expected way. And trust me, you can learn a lot from how horses lead and work together in a herd.
